Taylor Tyo - Hospital Manager

Taylor Tyo

Taylor Tyo is the Hospital Manager at Sawnee Animal Clinic and has been working in veterinary medicine since 2021.

Originally from Ohio, Taylor earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences with a minor in Agricultural Economics from the University of Kentucky, where she was also involved with the university’s livestock judging team. Her passion for animal care began long before her career in veterinary medicine—she grew up showing lambs and hogs through FFA at her county fair. After college, she began her career working with large animals before finding her way into small animal medicine.

Taylor has been the Hospital Manager at Sawnee Animal Clinic since 2024. Having started her veterinary career as a Veterinary Assistant, she has experience working across all areas of a veterinary hospital and understands the day-to-day roles and challenges of the entire team. As a Fear Free Certified Professional, Taylor is passionate about creating a positive, low-stress experience for both pets and their families. She especially enjoys that her role at Sawnee allows her to remain involved with patients and clients rather than spending all of her time behind a desk. Whether she is supporting her team, improving hospital processes, helping create a better client experience, or simply greeting a patient, Taylor loves being involved in all aspects of the hospital.

Outside of Sawnee, Taylor is a club volleyball coach and enjoys spending time on the court, cooking, traveling, and watching football. Taylor lives with her fiancé, Darren, and their two dogs, Simba, a Lab-Hound mix, and Kobe, a Dachshund mix.

Taylor believes that great veterinary care starts with a team that genuinely cares—for their patients, their clients, and one another. She is passionate about building a hospital environment where pets receive exceptional care, clients feel heard and supported, and team members feel valued and empowered to do their best work.
